About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to lead our Building Structures team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the structural design of projects in diverse sectors and scale, from £5M to £150M.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design of projects, ensuring accurate designs delivered to an excellent quality.
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians locally, nationally, and internationally to deliver projects to programme, to an excellent standard and within budget.
  • Contribute to team management, nurturing staff development through training and mentoring, managing resource allocation, ensuring quality, and driving innovation.
  • Attract clients that share our values, by building and maintaining excellent client relationships, bid development, and business development activities.

About You

We are looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer with at least 15 years of experience, educated to a degree level or equivalent in structural/civil engineering. You should have relevant experience in various sectors, such as schools, higher education, residential, commercial, or industrial development.

Your Key Deliverables

  • Energetically play a central and leading role in a Structures team, contributing to team morale and fostering collaboration.
  • Manage the delivery of numerous projects, at all stages of design and construction.
  • Create, develop, and grow business value from existing client relationships, effectively leveraging capabilities across the Ramboll portfolio to the benefit of the client.
