About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Product Safety Team at BAE Systems Submarines. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our submarine systems and capability development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with System Engineers to influence submarine systems and capability development, ensuring that safety considerations are integrated into the design and development process.
  • Develop and maintain safety requirements, hazard identification and analysis, and safety case delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety management systems are effective and efficient.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that safety standards are met and exceeded.
  • Contribute to the development of safety policies and procedures, ensuring that they are aligned with industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Obtained or predicted 2:2 in a Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree.
  • Proven experience in safety engineering, with a strong understanding of safety management systems and hazard identification and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
