Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Worcester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building, servicing, and installing rotational test equipment and supporting services and systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with their hands and has experience in the service of dynamometers or similar rotating machinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and service DSG products and repair other manufacturer's products
  • Refurbish returned equipment, including dynamometers and test rigs
  • Install new and reconditioned equipment at customer premises

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the service of dynamometers or similar rotating machinery
  • Understanding of engine and component testing theory
  • Understanding of oil injection principles
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience using hydraulic jacks
  • Experience of using machine tools (lathe, drill etc)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Quality, inspection, and detailed review of product build and engineering errors to allow continuous improvement
  • Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Reporting Skills, Numerate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical engineering drawings
  • Apprentice trained or equivalent education level
  • Experience of working in a workshop and on site
  • Able to work in a team, but also take sole responsibility for complete jobs when required
  • Understanding of Imperial and Metric sizes
  • Full and clean driving license
  • Knowledge of machining, welding, and fabrication
