Mechanical Estimator

Strong Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a leading Building Services specialist in South London. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical services projects, focusing on commercial fit-outs.
Job Overview:The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating within the construction industry, specifically in commercial fit-outs. Your expertise will involve:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical services (HVAC, plumbing, and other building services) on commercial fit-out projects.
- Interpreting drawings, specifications, and other documentation to accurately assess project requirements.
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other internal teams to ensure estimates align with project timelines and scopes.
- Conducting risk analysis and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Attending client meetings, site visits, and post-tender negotiations to discuss project requirements and refine estimates as needed.
- Maintaining and updating pricing databases for materials, labour, and equipment to reflect current market conditions.
- Supporting the development of commercial strategies and contributing to business development activities.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating within the construction industry, particularly with commercial fit-out projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical services (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) in building services.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
