About the Job

We are recruiting for a Development Control and Planning Coordinator to join our team at WP Recruitment & HR Ltd. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing development control and planning activities, ensuring smooth project delivery and excellent customer service.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with local authorities, external organisations, developers, and the public to provide pre-application highways advice.
  • Process and assess the highways elements of planning applications, including site visits and meeting deadlines.
  • Attend committee meetings and planning appeals.
  • Process and assess Highway Agreement applications.
  • Manage detailed records for all schemes, including legal and financial agreements.
  • Conduct technical reviews and analyses of existing network capacity and safety.
  • Assist in maintaining highway adoption, highways search, and street naming/numbering processes.
  • E nsure adherence to highways regulations and health and safety standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree-level qualification in Planning or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Highways or Planning Development Control/Design, including knowledge of the Highways Act, CDM legislation, and management of teams and works.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • The ability to work to deadlines and be flexible with duties.
  • A full driver's licence.
