We are seeking a Lead Engineer for Infrastructure to join our client in the rail industry, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This full-time and permanent role offers a hybrid working pattern and presents a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects.

About the Opportunity

This position requires a degree-qualified or equivalent professional with extensive experience assessing the condition of electrical and mechanical assets within infrastructure and public sectors, transferable to the rail industry.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take the lead in assessing current conditions of assets across the Northeast region.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance, renewal, and repair specifications compliant with relevant legislative and industry standards.
  • Lead audits, inspections, and other activities to evaluate compliance of delivery units against standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical advice to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Design and trial new systems and equipment.
  • Supervise others' work.
Requirements
  • Chartership status is advantageous.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Industry experience assessing the condition of electrical and mechanical assets within infrastructure and public sectors, transferrable to the rail industry.

The estimated salary range for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
