Job Title: EHS Business Partner

Autolus Limited is seeking a highly skilled EHS Business Partner to join our team in Stevenage. As a key member of our EHS team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal EHS management system requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the company's EHS management system.
  • Create and collaborate on EHS policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure accidents, incidents, near-misses, and safety observations are recorded, investigated, and corrective or preventative actions are implemented.
  • Work closely with the engineering and facilities teams in the management of contractors.
  • Provide EHS guidance and support to all areas of the business.
  • Conduct or organize relevant EHS training for staff.
  • Support, arrange, or conduct required risk assessments.
  • Carry out internal EHS workplace inspections and audits.
  • Ensure robust emergency plans are in place and effective.
  • Co-ordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives.
  • Establish and contribute as a key member of the EHS Committee.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role/environment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the business.
  • Experience of working in a GxP environment.
  • Good understanding of COSHH including Biosafety.
  • Experience in working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent level 3 health and safety qualification.
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent level 6 health and safety qualification.
  • Technical Member of IOSH (TechIOSH) or above.
  • Associate Member of IEMA (AIEMA) or above.
  • ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Internal Auditor.
Skills/Specialist Knowledge:
  • Professional in their approach and able to communicate clearly and confidently with people at all levels.
  • First class interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Positive, can-do attitude, focused on looking for solutions and improvements.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Proficiency to plan and prioritise work with the minimum of supervision working independently, or as part of a team.
  • Focused on delivering outstanding customer service to internal customers.
  • Competent user of IT applications such as Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, Teams.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
