Site Manager - Commercial Fitout

VANRATH is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our client, a leading commercial fit-out contractor based in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects from inception to completion, managing a fast-paced team on site, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times on site
  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day site management of fast-paced fit-out projects ranging from 6 weeks to 26 weeks in duration
  • Management of subcontractors on site to ensure they have all required to deliver their work and that their work is to a high level of quality craftsmanship
  • Working in close partnership with the Project Manager to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standard
  • Reading and understanding drawings and plans with an ability to convert into action and direction for other site-based staff and subcontractors
  • Plan two - three weeks in advance to ensure good coordination of labour and materials on site
  • Management of all site administration using digital software (training provided)
  • Coordinate and order materials and equipment needed on site
  • Manage the quality of workmanship on site
  • Manage all other labour requirements on site
  • Rapid close out of any snags towards the end of the project and before PC
The Ideal Person:
  • Track record working as a No.1 Site Manager for a reputable Main Contractor
  • Good communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients and stakeholders
  • Fit out experience managing projects ranging from £100k to £1m
  • Joinery background is preferred but not essential
  • CSR / CSCS Card
  • First Aid Training Card
  • Confidence in leading, while working in a team environment
  • Excellent eye for detail and exceptional quality
  • Proficiency in managing subcontractors and trades
