About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Research Scientist to join our team at ECO Magazine. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for advancing and promoting ocean conservation through scientific research, education, and public awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the strategic research portfolio by undertaking high-profile and impactful research using specialist facilities.
  • Collaborate with key research partners to design and set up experiments for research to be undertaken in bespoke marine aquaria facilities.
  • Advance and promote ocean conservation through scientific research, education, and public awareness.
  • Contribute to the development of impactful and innovative research for the advancement of the research portfolio.
  • Identify and implement research priorities and emerging technologies relevant to marine conservation.
  • Communicate findings through scientific papers, reports, and outreach material.
  • Seek external funding to leverage research investment.
  • Establish close links with universities and co-supervise Ph.D. and postdocs.
  • Work in a dynamic team environment to develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
About You

To be successful in this role, you must have a demonstrated research track record with significant publications and experience in establishing a marine research portfolio underpinned by multi-party collaboration.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a demonstrated publication track record and ability to represent the research team effectively.

A Ph.D. in Marine Science is required, and experience in running and maintaining marine aquaria experiments, organising and conducting fieldwork, and relevant First Aid Qualifications are desirable.
