Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Finch Henry Job Corps Center. The primary responsibility is to provide safe and reliable equipment to manufacturing colleagues, achieved through a healthy balance of hands-on competence, equipment knowledge, analysis of equipment performance, and strong communication skills.

Our Wigan site is a well-established business unit that processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat, fresh salad bags and bowls to some of the UK's well-known retailers and restaurants.

Main Responsibilities

* Execute hands-on planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working always.
* Ensure assets are ready to produce products that are of an excellent quality, dispatched on time in full to customers.
* Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake – properly risk assessed.
* Coach, train, and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance.
* Act with integrity always to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focused continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience Required

* Technical hands-on Engineering experience, preferably through recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing.
* Technical qualifications and competence in BTEC Engineering certificate/equivalent qualification.
* Broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets.
* Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working regulations.
