Job Title: Planning Manager/Lead P30

As a key member of our Portfolio Office team, you will play a crucial role in driving the planning and delivery of our projects and programmes. We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager/Lead to join our team and contribute to the success of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement best practice planning processes, tools, and templates to ensure effective project and programme planning.
  • Manage dependencies across the portfolio of work and provide specialist planning advice to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Provide guidance and support to Project/Programme Managers on planning approach, tools, and processes.
  • Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain external networks to access technical and professional best practice.
Essential Criteria:
  1. Substantial experience of leading planning for progressively larger and more complex projects and programmes.
  2. Excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience of creating integrated master schedules across multiple projects and programmes.
  3. Experience of identifying and managing pan-programme dependencies.
  4. Ability to drive best practice through excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work well as a member of a team.
  5. Adept at presenting insights and trends in a variety of formats and levels of detail to suit different audience requirements.
  6. Substantial experience of using project schedule tools, preferably MS Project, as well as other MS tools.
Desirable Criteria:
  • A project/programme management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner or Agile Project Management Practitioner.
  • Experience of working in Agile, hybrid, and waterfall project/programme delivery environments.
