We are currently seeking a proactive and skilled Project Manager to enhance our North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice, operating from our Glasgow office. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual eager to advance their career by overseeing projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in project management within the infrastructure domain, with the potential to broaden their expertise across a diverse array of stimulating projects.
The demand for this role arises from our division's achievements and anticipated growth within the Northern regions, particularly in Nuclear, Defence, and Water sectors, alongside significant opportunities in the Energy sector.
Working within the Infrastructure PDP allows you to engage with a wide range of projects that AtkinsRéalis undertakes, including refurbishment and new construction initiatives, nuclear developments, defence projects, and water management schemes. This role will enable you to showcase and enhance your project management capabilities and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project management and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure a unified understanding of requirements, scope, schedule, costs, risks, and interfaces among the team.
- Lead and inspire the project team, fostering motivation, guidance, and development.
- Engage and communicate effectively with clients on a project-by-project basis.
- Implement governance frameworks for projects in line with corporate policies and procedures to ensure successful outcomes.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of project delivery.
- Manage projects within the budgets agreed upon with clients and AtkinsRéalis.
- Oversee risk management for the project from initiation to completion.
- Administer and negotiate change controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage the procurement processes for approved subcontractors.
- Provide clear and precise monitoring and reporting of project performance against schedules, quality standards, financial metrics, and KPIs.
- Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and other team members as needed.
- Deliver projects in alignment with AtkinsRéalis core values: Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation.
- Background in Project Management, Engineering, Building Surveying, or Architecture, with experience in design management and contract administration.
- APM PMQ (or equivalent) recognized level of competence in Project Management is preferred.
- Familiarity with various construction contracts, particularly NEC3 or 4 and/or customized contracts.
- Experience managing projects from inception to completion in accordance with industry standards.
- Ability to collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Strong client-facing skills with a keen understanding of client needs.
- Proven leadership abilities to guide a delivery team confidently.
- Trusted by colleagues and clients to act in the best interests of all parties, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen and risk/commercial awareness to drive profitability.

- Understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
