About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Laboratory Specialist to join our Sense Colour Quality Control team in Overseal, Derbyshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our natural food colourings.

This is a 12-18 month contract covering maternity leave and offers a competitive salary of approximately £28,000 per annum.

As a Chemical Laboratory Specialist, you will be working within a shift rota covering Monday to Friday, with hours ranging from 6am to 7pm. You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all raw materials, in-process, and finished product quality testing meet production time limitations.
  • Releasing raw materials for use and finished goods for sale in compliance with specifications and validations of orders for despatch.
  • Performing internal microbiological analysis using petrifilm.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 18 months of experience in a chemical laboratory environment.
  • A level or equivalent in a science subject and mathematics.
  • Knowledge of UV/VIS spectrophotometer, colorimetry, GC-FID, and particle size analysis is an advantage.
