Job Title: Clinical Waste Treatment Specialist

Position Purpose:

To assist in the day-to-day operation of the plant for the receipt, treatment, and disposal of clinical waste, achieving maximum plant availability and productivity in accordance with company operational procedures and legislative obligations.

Key Job Activities:

Unloading of vehicles and trailers, effective manoeuvring of waste on the plant, and weighing of containers.

Ensuring waste containers are emptied, cleaned thoroughly, and readily available in a suitable storage area for collection.

Coordinating paperwork and reception of all deliveries to the plant, including suppliers and contractors.

Overseeing the safe handling of waste into containers by deliverers, operating a forklift truck if required, and participating in plant shutdowns as necessary.

Maintaining company operational records and data specific to the job function, drawing attention to management any major defects, concerns, or problems with equipment or the building.

Working under the directions of the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager in the event of a breakdown or controlled stoppage, observing and complying with all safety notices and signs, and ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner.

Attending training courses or instruction specific to the job as required and performing additional duties to ensure safe compliance and continuation of operations.

Requirements:

Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic, with a good health record and ability to work on own initiative.

A team player, able to work effectively under pressure, and looking for a challenge.

Demonstrating a flexible approach to hours, including shift work, and punctuality.
