Financial Strategist

Thorn Baker Construction, a leading provider of modular construction solutions, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Group Finance Director to join their leadership team as part of their ongoing growth and development.

About the Role:

We are committed to delivering sustainable, bespoke, and high-quality modular buildings across various sectors, including education, healthcare, commercial, and residential. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's objectives and growth plans.
• Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and reports for stakeholders.
• Lead, inspire, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other senior leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic and divisional decision-making.
• Drive cost efficiency across the business, optimising financial resources and enhancing profitability.
• Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
• Drive the business adoption of the newly implemented IFS ERP system.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Finance Director, Group Financial Controller or in a similar senior financial leadership role, preferably within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Detailed knowledge of IFRS 15 and how it applies in a rental and long-term contracting business.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning, analysis, and risk management.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
• High IT competency - advanced excel user.
