Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to spearhead our UK Engineering function as our Head of Engineering and Innovation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge processes and systems that will transform end-of-life products and waste materials into valuable resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering function to develop sustainable solutions, adopting practices from various industries to ensure our processes are at the forefront of innovation.
  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive project management process, complete with gate reviews, that guides projects from R&D through design, build, installation, and handover.
  • Manage preferred supplier arrangements and oversee the performance of external contractors, ensuring that all partnerships align with our high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Build and lead a highly capable engineering team, focusing on the development of talent across all levels.
  • Establish an engineering early careers framework to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience leading an engineering function, with a strong track record of guiding projects from R&D through to full implementation and handover.
  • Exceptional cradle to grave project management skills, with experience in delivering complex, multi-project initiatives on time and within budget.
  • A history of developing and nurturing talent, with experience in supporting early careers and creating a pipeline of future engineering leaders.
