We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our finance team at Technical Prospects Ltd. As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our company's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and Monitoring of Business Spending: You will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing business spending and company purchases, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
  • Invoice Verification: You will verify invoices against receipts to ensure that all products and/or services purchased are delivered as agreed.
  • Purchase Order Management: You will raise purchase order numbers and deal with invoices without these, ensuring that all transactions are properly documented and accounted for.
  • Supplier Management: You will post all supplier invoices to the ledger, ensuring they are matched to purchase orders where applicable and coded to the correct nominal ledger code and supplier account.
  • Payment Processing: You will prepare and process payments via BACS or cheque, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
  • Financial Awareness: You will maintain awareness of how much money is owed, and to whom, at all times.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: You will maintain strong business relationships with suppliers, ensuring that all transactions are properly documented and accounted for.
  • Financial Reporting: You will reconcile and process all company credit cards and check statements, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
  • Dispute Resolution: You will handle any purchase enquiries or disputes with suppliers, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  • Record Keeping: You will file invoices and statements, keeping records of all products and services purchased with company money.

Requirements:

  • Accounts Experience: You will have experience of working within an accounts function, with a strong understanding of financial processes and procedures.
  • Purchase Ledger Experience: Experience of purchase ledger is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Data Inputting Skills: You will have good data inputting skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive basic salary of £24,000 - £25,000 pro rata, plus benefits. This is a part-time 12 month contract, with flexible working times available.
