Research Software Engineer for Machine Learning and Protein Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Software Engineer to join our team at HIRANI, where you will play a key role in designing and engineering antibodies, antigens, and other proteins for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Management
Assist with the planning, implementation, and management of projects to ensure timely delivery and exceed client expectations.
- Data Sharing and Collaboration
Share and discuss data with the Operations Manager to ensure antibody discovery projects meet agreed timelines and deliverables.
- Team Leadership and Development
Assist with the line management and development of other scientific staff within Fusion, including support, supervision, training, and staff appraisals.
- Process Improvement and Innovation
Keep abreast of advancements in antibody discovery and assess and implement new or optimized processes and technologies to achieve or exceed targets.
- Laboratory Operations and Maintenance
Oversee routine laboratory operations and maintenance, including stock management, procurement, cleaning, equipment calibration, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Reporting and Communication
Prepare and present oral and written reports on research activities to internal and external audiences, and be proactive with your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Safety and Compliance
Maintain awareness of all safety procedures, attend required safety training, and adhere to laboratory safety rules as defined by the Safety Manager.
- Quality and Standards
Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures, and review and sign off on work carried out by junior members of staff.
Requirements- Education
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Skills and Experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; experience with MS Office applications; knowledge in computational biology, immuno-informatics, protein engineering, or structural biology; familiarity with machine learning methods used in protein/antibody engineering; software engineering skills, especially with the Python programming language; familiarity with NGS repertoire analysis; and a Personal Animal Licence.
- Work Environment
Familiarity with working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment.
