We are seeking an experienced Developmental Therapist to join our team of specialists who work closely with students, families, and educators to create personalized learning plans that cater to each child's unique needs.

About the Role:

This position involves working in a specialist secondary school based in Guildford, supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) as they navigate their academic journey.

You will be responsible for implementing effective communication techniques, collaborating with therapists, and contributing to a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes every pupil's well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored therapy plans to enhance students' cognitive, social, and emotional growth
  • Work collaboratively with SALTs, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Counsellors to ensure comprehensive support
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement
  • Communicate regularly with parents and educators to share progress and recommendations
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments to continually improve services

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with MLD
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational setting
