The role of NDT Technician at Reed Engineering involves conducting Non-Destructive Testing in-process and finished machined components to ensure compliance with customer specifications. This includes producing technical reports and understanding the differences between Ferromagnetic & Non-Ferromagnetic Alloy materials.

You will also be responsible for assisting in various other QC activities such as Pressure Testing, Hardness Testing, Heat Treatment, PMI, and Thickness Checks. Additionally, you will work flexibly to meet customer requirements, including willingness to work overtime.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in NDT, preferably with PCN level 2 qualifications in MPI, LPI, and UT (3.1 / 3.2). You should also have competence in using Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word, as well as strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand engineering drawings.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary of £18.14 - £20.40 per hour, increasing to £18.89 - £21.15 per hour in January 2025. You will also receive a 25% allowance of basic rate of pay per hour for nightshift work. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an Engineering production environment, knowledge of welding processes, and an understanding of Engineering Standards such as ASME / API.
