We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at People Source Consulting Ltd trading as Experis. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and engineering support of mechanical life-saving survival equipment and other products.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for life-saving equipment and other products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met and products are manufactured efficiently.
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings, documents, and reports to ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise and support to sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams as needed.
- Manage projects and work packages to ensure timely completion and within budget.
- Work closely with the Project/Product Manager to ensure projects are adequately supported and delivered on time.
- Knowledge of plastics, sheet metal, and castings type environments to IP68 and impact/crush testing.
- Experience with design life cycle (concept to production) within an ISO9001 or similar quality environment.
- High and low volume design experience for commercial and leisure markets.
- Engineering drawing change control and process experience.
- Design of production assembly and test fixtures experience.
- Experience of product type approval to international standards.
- Knowledge and experience of ultra-sonic welding of plastic materials.
- Experience in the use of model shop equipment, such as milling machines and lathes.
- Experience of marine, aviation, and navigation/communications.
- 3D/2D CAD (Solidworks) skills.
- FEA/FEM/Stress Analysis experience.
- Experience with PDM/PLM software.
- Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
