Building Maintenance Specialist

About Our Team
Capita Entrust is a joint venture between Capita and Staffordshire County Council, supporting educational establishments to improve outcomes since 2013. Our passion is inspiring futures and improving outcomes for children, young people, and adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional maintenance and minor improvement works to educational establishments.
- Collaborate with local authorities to provide routine advice and support on maintenance repairs.
- Implement, diagnose, and manage works for repair and maintenance within assigned buildings.
- Lead project management/supervising officer duties, liaising with establishment representatives.
- Work out of county as required, ensuring projects are carried out within approved budgets and adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Ensure use of appropriate health and safety risk assessments and precautions commensurate with project complexity, referencing CDM 2015 regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent qualification; relevant degree desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of listed buildings and preparation/submission of listed building applications.
- Qualified tradespeople with suitable supervisory experience may be considered.
- Experience in managing and organising building maintenance project works, working to budgets and deadlines.
- Experience in providing building specifications/drawings (AutoCad LT preferred) for maintenance and minor improvement works.
- Able to diagnose building defects, identify solutions, and communicate effectively to relevant parties.
- Familiarity with building and planning regulations and statutory requirements in relation to design and construction of minor improvement projects.
- Current full driving license.
- DBS enhanced disclosure required.
