Job Title – Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at DSM's Improve Plant Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading site Programmable Electronic Systems (PES), including software backup and modification, hardware and software problem resolution, and electronic network and system security.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and upgrade site PES, including software backup and modification, hardware and software problem resolution, and electronic network and system security.
  • Maintain and upgrade site Instrument & Control provisions, including hardware problem resolution, instrument and control equipment compliance with DSEAR/ATEX, and management of instrument and control systems in a technically sound, safe, and environmentally acceptable manner.
  • Provide PES and C&I support to Improve Plant for project implementation, including development of site standards and procedures, selection and implementation of technical solutions, review and sign-off of project technical reviews, and management of change.
  • Drive continuous improvement of SHE, Quality, Reliability, and Efficiency.
  • Consult with and support the Shift Manager or Technical Team in resolving instrument and control maintenance problems and provide technical support to the crafts during dayshift and out of hours.

  • A relevant honors degree in a suitable Engineering discipline.
  • Software programming principles, IT, Cyber Security, and networking skills.
  • Previous work experience or placement in a science-related manufacturing environment.
  • A commitment to working towards chartered status within your technical discipline.
  • High motivation, ability to follow technical instructions accurately, effective communication skills, and a willingness to work well and safely in a team environment.
