Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at Reed. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing various ledgers, including purchase and sales ledgers, and be proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage daily accounting tasks, including purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile finance accounts and direct debits.
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecast activities.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to management as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a good mix of various ledgers.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
