About the Role

Randstad CPE London is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to lead mechanical engineering projects across various sectors, including Rail, Highways, Power, and Tunnels. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical installations throughout projects, ensuring successful delivery from a health, safety, environmental (HSE), programme, quality, compliance, and commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design review in line with current standards to ensure buildability and constructability
  • Undertake mechanical design for tunnel ventilation, HVAC, pumped systems, and other related systems
  • Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters
  • Provide engineered solutions to key project problems to satisfy client expectations, project restrictions, and budget considerations
  • Collaborate with the CAD team to ensure correct drawing modelling, adhering to BIM or other standards
  • Work closely with installation teams to ensure design suitability, works methodology, and solve key installation issues/constructability
  • Manage subcontractor works as appropriate, assisting the commercial department in valuation and contract support
  • Ensure design and works comply with client quality management systems

Requirements:

  • HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineering Council Registration as Incorporated Engineer or qualification leading to this status
  • Registered member of either CIBSE or IET or other recognised Engineering Council Institutions
  • SMSTS certification
  • CSCS Card

Salary and Benefits:

We are offering a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include access to professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive pension scheme.

Location:

This role will be based across our project locations, with occasional travel to other sites and offices as required.
