Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve customer credit limits in line with company credit control policy.
- Monitor and review customer accounts to be placed on "stop" in accordance with company credit control policy.
- Manage credit card merchant facilities and maintain relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Provide aged debt reports and regular updates to senior management with commentary.
- Offer guidance on legal debt collection options and liaise with solicitors and collection agencies.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to show expected receipts.
- Maintain accurate ledgers and resolve over/underpayments.
- Provide bad debt provisions guidance to the financial controller.
- Offer holiday cover for processing and allocating daily cash receipts and payments.
- Answer customer and supplier queries and resolve issues.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between customer online portals and the sales ledger.
- Support the month-end process to ensure all cash is posted by the close of period.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance assistant with cash posting, credit control, and sales ledger query resolution.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of credit management practices and policies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with sales managers and customers.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to handle large volumes of work efficiently.
