The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our small, friendly multi-disciplinary community team. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing your own specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation in patients' homes or homely settings in the community.

You will provide specialist advice to Occupational Therapy staff and other disciplines/agencies, developing specialist clinical skills and leading clinical audit and research. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation.
  • Provide specialist advice to Occupational Therapy staff and other disciplines/agencies.
  • Develop specialist clinical skills and lead clinical audit and research.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
Requirements
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice, demonstrating the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Car driver with a full UK/EU/EEA valid driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality.
  • Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice, and/or research skills.
  • Sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency team working practices.
Contract Type and Location

This is a fixed-term post for 7 months, with the possibility of extension. The role will be based in ICST Camglen within Rutherglen Primary Care Centre.

The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
