Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Leicestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a strong multi-disciplinary setting delivering services for young people and their families/carers.

The post holder will serve the generic outpatient team, which is a specialist team offering mental health assessment and intervention to children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

The estimated salary for this role is £43,041 - £70,305 per annum, depending on experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work as a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist as part of psychological therapy and psychology services within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and care pathways.
  • To provide a comprehensive, highly specialist cognitive behavioural psychotherapy service to young people with complex problems for which CBT is evidenced to be clinically effective.
  • This includes working with children and adolescents who may present with severe and treatment-resistant disorders with co-existing conditions.
  • To work as a highly skilled autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload under clinical and case management supervision.
  • To offer consultation and guidance to other mental health professionals, other treatment pathways and community colleagues.
  • To contribute to the ongoing development of CBT practice taking into account advances in treatment, theory and research.
