Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Reception class team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children's learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with their learning and development
  • Lead small group activities focused on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills
  • Assist the class teacher with the daily setup and running of the classroom
  • Monitor and report on children's progress to the teacher and SENCO
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Provide support for children with additional learning needs or SEN
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning
  • Commitment to Inclusion
  • Calm, kind, and flexible approach
  • Ability to work under the general guidance of the Class Teacher
  • Experience of working with children, preferably in an EYFS setting
  • Knowledge of phonics
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Be suitably qualified for the post of Teaching Assistant, i.e., to have good basic literacy and numeracy skills (to GCSE level or above) and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
