A dynamic and forward-thinking organisation is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Specialist to join their team in Chelmsford. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facilities maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and be able to work shifts consisting of five days on and three days off.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing plant and equipment, providing technical support and quality service to other areas of the business. They will also work on a shift cover scheme for maintenance functions, covering out-of-hours tasks and breakdowns.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain existing plant and equipment, providing technical support and quality service to other areas of the business.
  • Work on a shift cover scheme for maintenance functions, covering out-of-hours tasks and breakdowns.
  • Manage and control allocated Preventative Maintenance tasks on plant, maximising utilisation and ensuring any potential risks are identified and managed.
  • Ensure all statutory/legal maintenance tasks adhere to company procedures, policies, and legal requirements, and ensure compliance to HSE governance.
  • Communicate with customers and other members of the facilities group regarding any issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience gained within a Facilities maintenance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • NVQ (3) or above in Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering is essential.
  • Experience with water systems, electrical distribution, fire alarms, air-conditioning, control systems, BEMS/Trend systems, process chillers, and A/C systems is desirable.
  • Experience of Preventative Maintenance is required.
  • Must be physically fit and willing to undertake medical on site.
  • Candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute of Chelmsford and be a British Passport holder.

Compensation and Benefits: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 6% matched pension, on-site restaurant, and free parking.
