We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Container Driver to join our client in Coventry. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting containers to designated locations, primarily Felixstowe docks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a truck to transport goods to designated locations
  • Deal with loading and offloading of containers, including using trailers
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
  • Communicate with dispatch to receive instructions and updates on delivery routes
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries

Requirements:

  • Valid CE driver's license (HGV Class 1)
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a HGV 1 driver
  • Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents
  • Experience using Skeletal trailers, including trailers with a sliding bogie and twist locks
  • Experience driving both Manual and Automatic vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
  • Felixstowe rhides port card required

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay rates: £19.10 per hour from 15:00 start time paid all night hours worked, or £21.00 per hour for umbrella workers
  • AM shifts available with a pay rate of £17.37 per hour or £20.00 per hour for umbrella workers
  • Bonus scheme to be introduced over the next 2 months
