The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is partnering with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK to provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are seeking an experienced 1:1 SEN Tutor to support students with complex needs who are currently out of school and not receiving education.

Tuition is needed to support students with the core subjects of Maths and English, although some of the students that require tuition have never received any formal education due to their complex needs, therefore, are working at the lowest level possible.

Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position Details:
  • Location: Hornchurch
  • Position: 1:1 SEN Tutor
  • Hours: 10-30 hours per week
  • Timetable: Choose between Morning, Afternoon or evening sessions FLEXIBLE
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • Desirable: QTS or equivalent
  • Essential: Experience working with students with complex needs
  • Essential: Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
  • Desirable: UK classroom teaching experience

The successful candidate must have a Right to Work and be willing to undertake or already have an Enhanced DBS. Two references (minimum 1x education) are required.
