Data Journalist for Renewable Energy Coverage

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Data Journalist to join our team at ION Group, responsible for providing in-depth coverage of the renewable energy sector in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and writing exclusive content on M&A, equity and debt financing concerning the renewables and broader power generation space. They will also be expected to develop contacts with the renewables finance community, including investors, corporates, developers, lenders and advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To research and write five exclusive stories a week on topics such as live and predicted renewables and power generation M&A, financing, people moves, fund profiles, corporate strategy, and trend analyses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the renewables finance industry, including investors, corporates, developers, lenders, and advisors.
  • Assist with content creation for ION Analytics' events, including panel moderation and speaking.
  • Collaborate with the energy editor, senior editors, and colleagues across the group to support content creation targeted at ION Analytics' key customer segments.
  • Maintain high standards of copy and adhere to group-wide compliance policies.
  • Proven track record of breaking news and writing in-depth analyses.
  • Ability to identify trends in market data and conduct research to produce reports.
  • Strong network of sources to produce reports.
  • Excellent news and analysis writing skills.
