About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team at Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will play a critical role in the delivery of planned and reactive FM maintenance services in a business-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and manage remedial tasks identified by PPMs
  • Deal with reactive calls and ensure delivery in line with SLAs
  • Review data to identify strengths and weaknesses in service delivery, implement improvements, and suggest solutions
  • Adopt a one-team approach by liaising with service delivery teams, subject matter experts, management team, and other supervisors to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met
  • Monitor and manage handheld technology usage, encouraging real-time usage with clear and accurate notes
  • Inform the asset and commercial team when equipment is replaced as part of the Life Cycle or Small Works Programme
  • Identify assets, tasks, or frequencies that are not aligned and advise accordingly
  • Maintain relationships with key subcontractors and manage their work on site
  • Participate in Health and Safety guidelines and report to Management and QSHE regarding any dangers, hazards, or defects/issues encountered
  • Establish excellent working relationships with clients to be recognized as a key contact and trusted partner
  • Identify business opportunities and develop them with the customer and the business
  • Carry out regular site audits and provide on-site support to the team as required
  • Provide training, support, guidance, and tools to ensure technicians use correct methods and procedures, including Health and Safety requirements
  • Carry out toolbox talks and identify training required
  • Effectively manage the team, holding informal and formal meetings, gathering feedback, identifying, and dealing with poor performance
Requirements
  • Recognized electrical qualifications
  • Previous or current HV AP qualification (essential)
  • Electrical Apprenticeship, 18th edition IEE, C&G 2391
  • Proven track record in delivering engineering solutions in a critical environment
  • Detailed operational understanding of facilities maintenance, soft services, hard services, and building services within a business-critical environment
  • Proven track record in successful people management, including performance management, and familiarity with operational HR process and procedure
  • Extensive experience in managing a large multi-disciplined workforce
  • Valid formal Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH 1 or 5 day)
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Wide breadth of knowledge on mechanical, electrical systems, and building fabric repairs
