Job Title: Specialist Microbiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Microbiologist to join our team at National Locums. As a key member of the Microbiology department, you will provide clinical leadership and expert guidance on microbiological investigations and interpretations.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a Specialty Doctor/Consultant in Microbiology, with a strong track record of developing and implementing guidelines and protocols. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care, maintaining accurate records and reporting results in a timely manner.

Apart from the core hours, 6-12 months contract, immediate start, full-time or flexible working arrangement is available. With a salary range of £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience, this is an excellent opportunity for senior microbiologists to advance their career in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing clinical leadership in the Microbiology department.
  • Conducting microbiological investigations and interpreting results.
  • Developing and implementing microbiological guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting results in a timely manner.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest microbiological research and developments.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Contributing to the development of the department’s strategic plan and business objectives.
