Front of House Assistant

At Gather & Gather, we are passionate about great food and great coffee, and we're looking for a Front of House Assistant to join our team at Sky Studios. As a Front of House Assistant, you will provide a friendly, warm, and knowledgeable service to all customers, preparing and maintaining the food service areas in an attractive and hygienic manner, and being responsible for accurate use of tills.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve all food to the highest standard and in line with the CH&CO style using the correct tools and presentation techniques.

Prepare and serve all beverages in a timely manner and to the CH&CO standard.

Assist with food preparation in the kitchen to the CH&CO standard as required.

Set up service counters for service and keep the service areas clean, tidy, and presentable in line with the CH&CO standards and ensure the availability of product during all service periods.

Clean and wash up all equipment, kitchen, and service areas to comply with cleaning schedules.

Under the guidance of the GM/AGM, ensure that merchandising at service counters and dining areas have products correctly priced, labelled, and in date.

Work with colleagues to maintain food availability during service periods.

Assist in the cleaning and clearing of tables, polishing of cutlery.

Clean and replenish vending machines, if necessary, with change and product, and deal with minor vending issues (blocked cans/incorrect loading). Report any vending issues that cannot be resolved to the AGM/GM.

Handle the till and cash sales accurately and take responsibility for the security of all monies in the till and assist with cashing up procedures.

Assist in monthly stock take as directed.

Prepare and serve all beverages in a timely manner and to the CH&CO standard.

Ensure that service counters and dining areas display appropriate merchandising under the guidance of the General Manager and ensure that all products are correctly priced, labelled, and in date.

Assist in the preparation of tables and ensure all cutlery and glassware is polished.

Where necessary, clean and replenish vending machines/Home Zones with change and product and deal with minor vending issues and report any vending problems that cannot be resolved to the Catering/Vending Manager.

Ensure all food items are displayed in accordance with the CH&CO standards to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.

Complete all requested records and documentation accurately and clearly.

Liaise with the General Manager on all faults and service delivery issues daily, ensuring that offline machines are serviced and available for customers to use as quickly as possible.

Report any losses of stock/cash to the General Manager.

Customer Service:

Present and maintain a professional and friendly image with the client and customers at the relevant site.

Attend to customer needs in a polite and helpful and friendly manner, providing assistance where necessary in line with the CH&CO style.

Provide information to customers about the food and make recommendations.

Work with all colleagues in a polite and helpful way to ensure excellent customer service.

Accurately and efficiently handle all transactions and assist with cashing up procedures in line with CH&CO standards.

Health & Safety:

Understand and comply with CH&CO and statutory health, hygiene, and safety, quality standards, including COSHH and HACCP, ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with these standards.

Wear the correct uniform and safety shoes as directed and maintain uniform items appropriately.

Report any equipment and/or building fabric faults and any hygiene, health, and safety hazards to the GM/AGM.

Occasional Responsibilities:

Attend training courses and attend CH&CO meetings when necessary.

Assist in monthly stock take as directed.
