Job Summary

About the Role:

Gleeson Development Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Technical Operations department, you will play a critical role in supporting and assisting our Regional Technical team and operating team to achieve our business objectives, budgets, and future growth requirements.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our land/development team, assisting with feasibility studies, and preparing site viability reports in line with current regulatory requirements. You will also identify the need for external consultants, manage relationships with consultants, and ensure the flow of information is within agreed timescales and in accordance with our programme and National Housebuilding council standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the land/development team, including feasibility studies and site viability reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the Technical function.
  • Coordinate the appointment of utilities, including designs, quotes, and agreements.
  • Responsible for managing the Adoption process.
  • Provide engineering support to site teams and internal departments.
  • Be present on site and lead on relevant technical meetings relating to the procurement and approval of site infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification or strong experience in technical design, and/or civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering requirements of the house building industry and the legal framework associated with Technical standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge and application of:
    • Highway Design Standards
    • Sewers for adoption
    • Building Regs
    • British Standards
    • AutoCAD
  • Good technical and legal knowledge and financial/commercial awareness.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Awareness of Type approval with NHBC, LABC, and SBD.
  • Numerical and literate.
