Job Title: SEMH Learning Support

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Learning Support to join our team at a well-respected SEMH Provision in Stockport. As a SEMH Learning Support, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of students with SEMH needs.

About the Role:
  • Support teaching and learning in the classroom, working closely with teachers to ensure students receive the best possible education.
  • Provide individualized support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Develop and implement individual education and behavioral plans, setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
  • Establish trusting relationships with pupils, interacting with them according to individual needs and personalities.
  • Encourage pupils to engage in activities and interact with the class, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a similar role such as Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Support Worker, or Mentor.
  • Strong ability to de-escalate challenging behavior with secondary-aged students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children's development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of students and staff.
