Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Operations Specialist to join our team in Canterbury. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing lab operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the working environment is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  2. Manage lab stock and inventory, ordering, experiments set-up, and troubleshooting issues without direct supervision.\
  3. Develop and implement SOPs, ensuring adherence to good laboratory standards.\
  4. Collaborate with senior scientists to deliver projects and ensure timely completion.\
  5. Maintain accurate records, including digitally stored reports, databases, documentation, and user guides.\
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in technical operations.\
  7. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.\
  8. Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience).\
  9. Benefits include 28 days' annual leave, sick leave benefits, and a supportive work culture.\
  10. Please note that we cannot sponsor visas at this time.\

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • \
  • A degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as molecular biology or biochemistry.\
  • At least two years of experience in a lab setting, preferably in a technical operations role.\
  • Proven track record of managing lab operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a safe working environment.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively within a team.\
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.\
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and priorities.\
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software, including data analysis tools and cloud platforms.\
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex issues.\
  • Excellent numerical and written communication skills, with ability to produce clear, concise reports.\
  • Proficient in using various digital tools, including Google Workspace and MS Office.\
  • Familiarity with robotic equipment or willingness to learn.\
  • Experience with COSHH standards and waste management practices.\
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\
