Position Summary

The Samsung Research UK AI team is seeking a highly skilled engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI technology for Samsung devices and services. As an AI Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation mobile devices and collaborate with researchers and engineers to accelerate new research efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI features and functionality for on-device execution
  • Propose and prototype innovative solutions while considering real-world constraints
  • Contribute to software architecture planning and incorporate software engineering practices
  • Stay informed about state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and frameworks for AI
  • Take technical responsibility for significant sections of assigned projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines
  • Professional software development experience with modern C++
  • Experience with GPU compute in CUDA/OpenCL
  • Knowledge of linear algebra equivalent to at least first-year university level
  • Strong computer science and engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices and tools

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of computer vision fundamentals
  • LLVM compiler experience
  • Experience with commercial/production AI
  • Experience in Python/Java/Kotlin

Contract Type: 6 Month Contract (inside IR35)

Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK

Hybrid Policy: 3 days a week onsite and 2 days working from home if preferred
