The University of Bristol is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to contribute to a qualitative study within the OPTIMAL feasibility trial. The trial aims to assess the feasibility of an RCT of lower dose MMF versus higher dose MMF in older kidney transplant recipients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading qualitative data collection and analysis, as well as contributing to overall trial analysis. This will involve developing an interview topic guide with the patient advisory group and the PI, undertaking in-depth semi-structured qualitative interviews with trial participants and healthcare professionals, and leading analysis of the qualitative data.

The ideal candidate will have a good honours degree in social or health sciences, a relevant postgraduate research degree, and experience of leading qualitative data collection and analysis. They will also have a track record of excellence in research project administration and delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher to contribute to a study that aims to improve outcomes for people with kidney transplants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an interview topic guide with the patient advisory group and the PI
  • Undertake in-depth semi-structured qualitative interviews with trial participants and healthcare professionals
