We are seeking dynamic and adaptable cover supervisors to join our team, providing essential support to our outstanding schools across South Devon. This is an exciting opportunity to work in both mainstream settings and special educational needs environments, supervising classes across a range of subjects and year groups.
As a cover supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, effectively managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies, and supporting students with SEN, tailoring resources and teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality lessons to students in the absence of the classroom teacher
- Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive and productive learning atmosphere
- Supporting students with SEN, including those with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities
- Collaborating with support staff and other relevant personnel to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Providing feedback to the class teacher following each session
About you:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is essential
- Strong classroom management skills, with the confidence to engage students and manage challenging behaviour
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and support staff
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work across different subjects and year groups, with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN
- Able to drive and have access to your own car
