Chef Position at Acorns Ashley School

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our catering team at Acorns Ashley School in Manchester. This is a part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary of £13.26 per hour.

About the Role:
  • To prepare and cook meals for children within agreed nutritional standards.
  • To ensure compliance with relevant health and safety guidelines.
  • To supervise and organise catering staff under your jurisdiction.
  • To complete administrative procedures and paperwork to required standards.
Responsibilities:
  1. The supervision and co-ordination of staff employed in the kitchen.
  2. The preparation, cooking and serving of meals for consumption both on and off the premises, including special diets.
  3. To facilitate training of new staff in the use of equipment, kitchen techniques and relevant aspects of health and safety in the kitchen environment.
  4. To ensure that the kitchen and dining areas are maintained to a clean/hygienic and safe condition.
  5. To liaise with Totally Local Company's personnel, head teachers, school personnel, contractors, suppliers, pupils and parents on a regular basis.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent is essential.
