Rullion Limited is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Operations Manager to lead their Repair Service Centre in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of workshop employees, ensuring the efficient execution of repair work on customers' rotating machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of workshop employees to produce comprehensive inspection information, checklists, drawings, and reports that are returned to the Principal Engineers.
  2. Effectively allocate workshop resources to repair activities to optimise resource utilisation.
  3. Mitigate non-productive time by allocating workshop resources onto other activities, including Field Service activity, training, etc.
  4. Manage the performance of workshop employees through effective coaching, communication, and monthly one-to-ones.
  5. Ensure that workshop employees follow the Aberdeen Service Centre Quality Management System.
  6. Support the development and training of workshop employees to ensure all skills requirements are in place and employees are retained.
  7. Manage effective systems to control time, cost, and quality objectives of each repair project within the workshop.
  8. Identify and raise warnings when time, cost, and quality objectives are at risk.
  9. Ensure that all workshop tooling, equipment, and machinery is fit for purpose, safe, and available for workshop activity.
  10. Assist workshop, technical, and project management staff to troubleshoot and identify problems on rotating equipment by determining the root cause problem.

Requirements

  1. Supervisory experience working in a repair service centre/workshop.
  2. Strong Team Leader with excellent communication skills.
  3. Technical aptitude and comprehensive knowledge of rotating equipment, hand tools & all types of measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  4. Experience of engineering machining activity, including milling machines, centre lathes, grinding, drilling machines, tool and die making.
  5. Workshop Planning Experience is preferred.
  6. Strong IT Skills.
  7. Flexibility and Responsiveness.
  8. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  9. Knowledge of HR processes and requirements.
