HSEQ Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join our team at Winner Recruitment. As an HSEQ Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's projects to meet the requirements of the Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support site teams and managers through inspections to identify hazards, minimize risks, and maintain health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Champion HSEQ initiatives in the region, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Provide HSEQ advice and support to HSEQ Advisors, promoting consistent and accurate advice.
  • Produce regional HSEQ statistics, identify trends, and take proactive initiatives to improve performance.
  • Line manage HSEQ Advisors, mentoring and developing their skills to ensure professional growth.
  • Support site teams on Be Right First Time initiatives and monitor quality control as defined by the HSEQ Systems & Audit Manager.
  • Attend Client HSEQ Forums, providing lessons learned feedback and sharing best practices.
  • Produce and communicate HSEQ alerts following incidents and poor-quality standards to promote learning and prevention.
  • Support HSEQ Advisors and complete investigation reviews for HSE investigations.
  • Act as an independent Investigator in other areas of the business under the direction of the HSEQ Director.
  • Conduct HSEQ Detailed Inspections monthly, with targets agreed with the Head of HSEQ and/or the HSEQ Director.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a civil engineering or rail sector environment.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent, IOSH, and CEnv or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • CSCS safety professional card and level 3 AET or PTTLS.
  • Strong people skills, confident in client-facing situations, and good presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations.
  • Able to work as a member of a team, but capable of working alone to tight deadlines as appropriate.
