Clerk to the Governors

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clerk to the Governors to join our team on a casual basis. As a Clerk to the Governors, you will provide administrative support to the governing board, ensuring the smooth operation of meetings and providing guidance on governance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the governing board, including preparing agendas, minutes, and other documentation.
- Clerk meetings and ensure that all necessary procedures are followed.
- Provide guidance on governance matters, including legislative requirements and best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governors, school leaders, and other external partners.
- Work collaboratively with the Local Authority to ensure that the governing board is aware of and compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of successfully clerking governing boards and meeting rigorous deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with governors, school leaders, and other stakeholders.
- The ability to influence and inspire confidence, with a strong understanding of governance matters.
- The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
Working Arrangements:
This is a casual position, with the successful candidate working on an as-needed basis. The role will require travel to schools for governing board meetings and may involve working in the evenings and weekends.
DBS and Employment History:
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check and a full employment history. Please provide a full employment history, together with a satisfactory written explanation of any gaps in employment.
