About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Roster Clerk to join our Ebbsfleet Team at Network Rail. As a Roster Clerk, you will play a crucial role in producing cost-effective and efficient rosters for nominated employees, ensuring compliance with relevant operational standards and rostering principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and publish rosters using the Corporate Rostering Tool, adhering to National Rostering Principles, company policies, and standards.
  • Prepare rosters for employees undertaking weekly/daily rostered duties, covering sickness, annual leave, training, briefing, and special arrangements.
  • Manage short notice roster alterations, liaising with affected employees and line managers, and responding to and resolving any queries related to roster issues.
  • Compile and control leave records, including input to the production of annual leave rosters.
  • Make roster arrangements for medical examinations and interviews.
  • Monitor and maintain competency data to ensure no base roster shifts are left uncovered due to expired competencies.
  • Carry out pre and post payroll interface checks to validate roster data and submit late notice roster changes to payroll.
  • Gather and analyze fatigue data and highlight issues to the relevant line manager.
  • Provide information and data to support the routes reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of national rostering principles.
  • Previous successful experience in prioritizing workloads and delivering to deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous successful experience of analyzing data and producing reports.
  • Understanding of conditions of service applicable to rostering.
  • Understanding of roster systems.
  • Demonstrable ability to accurately manage data and attention to detail.
  • Previous successful experience of working in a team and engaging with virtual team members.
  • Able to demonstrate good general IT skills.
