About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to join our team at Sellick Partnership Limited - Public Sector. As a Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal advice and support to our clients in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Principal Lawyer and provide training and support to the legal team.
  • Assist with the allocation of work, personal development plans, and one-to-one meetings.
  • Make applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications related to deputyships, welfare, and best interests, deprivation of liberty, judicial review, and inherent jurisdiction.
  • Provide detailed and accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Mental Health Act 1983, and associated regulations and statutory guidance.
  • Provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, data protection, and freedom of information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16-17-year-old deprivation of liberty cases.
  • Advise Service Managers and Directors on Adult Social Care policy and procedure.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
  • Prior experience in adult social care law from either a private practice or a public sector setting.
