As a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and testing mechanical components for our innovative Extract Energy heat engine solution. We are looking for a talented individual who can own their projects, working independently from design to production, and provide technical expertise in powertrain design, structural design, mechanical power transmission, and related design for manufacturing and assembly.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position working in a state-of-the-art facility with a flexible work schedule (40 hours/week) and competitive salary, commensurate with experience. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from wearable technology to medical devices, and apply your knowledge of thermomechanical FEA, 3D design tools, and heat transfer to drive innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build mechanical components, including miniature devices and larger machines, incorporating programmable shape memory alloy technology
  • Develop and execute verification and validation activities, including test plans and equipment building
  • Support procurement and commissioning of automation, mechanical, and manufacturing equipment for rapid prototyping and production
  • Communicate effectively with the team and provide technical guidance to ensure successful project execution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 4-5 years of related product development/manufacturing experience in a mechanical design role
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D design tools, such as AutoDesk suite, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of thermomechanical FEA, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
