The Learning Technology Manager at Imperial College Business School is pivotal to the integration of innovative learning technologies, including AI and VR, to transform digital education. Reporting to the Director of Learning Innovation, this role manages a team of Learning Technologists and drives the deployment of cutting-edge tools that enhance both online and on-campus learning. This role is vital in positioning the Business School as a global leader in education and advancing the IDEA Lab's mission to become a leading EdTech hub.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Education Transformation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Learning Technology team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and continuous improvement of our Learning Management Systems (LMS) and providing expert guidance to academic teams. Collaborating with faculty, programme teams, and external stakeholders, you will support the delivery of high-quality educational technology experiences, both on-campus and online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Manage a small team of Learning Technologists and oversee the use of learning technologies across the Business School.
  • LMS Integration and Improvement: Ensure the seamless integration and continuous improvement of our Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Expert Guidance and Support: Provide expert guidance to academic teams and support the delivery of high-quality educational technology experiences.
  • Strategic Initiatives and Emerging Technologies: Contribute to strategic initiatives, pilot emerging technologies such as AI and VR, and provide training to staff on effective digital teaching tools.

Requirements:

  • Teaching and Learning Qualifications: Teaching and learning related qualifications.
  • Teaching Experience: Teaching experience or the ability to provide learning technology consultancy services to subject matter experts and prospective partners/clients.
  • Change Management: Experience of working on change and implementation activities combined.
  • Innovation and Leadership: Demonstrable experience in acting as an agent of innovation within a comparable environment.
  • Strategic Technology Roadmaps: Experience contributing and supporting strategic technology roadmaps and pilot projects in collaboration with leadership.
  • LMS Experience: Extensive experience of maintaining and developing Learning Management Systems (LMS) in a higher education context.
  • Emerging Technologies: Demonstrable knowledge and enthusiasm for the use of emerging digital technology in education (VR, AI, etc).
  • Best Practice and Trends: Clear knowledge of contemporary best practice and the leading trends in education technology.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence and lead peers, faculty, and external partners.
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex, cross-departmental learning technology projects, ensuring alignment with wider institutional goals.
